Obituary for Kenneth Di Leonardo

Kenneth Di Leonardo
Kenneth J. Di Leonardo

Kenneth “Ken” J. Di Leonardo, 77 years old, passed away on April 29, 2018. He was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado and proudly served and retired as a Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Army at Ft. Carson. He joined the Army in 1958 and served until retirement in 1980. He then went on to continue serving in the Civil Service as a Supply Clerk at Ft. Carson and the Air Force Academy until he retired April 30, 2007.

Kenneth was born on April 6, 1941 to Dominic and Angela (Iannone) Di Leonardo in Providence, Rhode Island. On January 15, 1994 he married Bonnie in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ken loved music and had an inventoried collection of various kinds. He appreciated German music and food and was always ready to make people laugh with his witty sense of humor. His favorite place to visit was Hawaii after being stationed there while serving in the Army. Another favorite of his was football and he was a very loyal fan of the Broncos. His office was usually decorated in orange and blue. He rarely missed a football game on TV and it was only complete with pizza and a beer.

He was a member of the Vista Grande Baptist Church and loved the Lord.

He is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie; his daughters: Heidi Bell, Diane Di Leonardo; and step-daughters: Brenda Damon, Polly Paloka, and Becky Book; his 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dominic; and sister, Nancy.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Vista Grande Baptist Church, 5680 Stetson Hills, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A reception will be held following the memorial service at Vista Grande Baptist Church. He will be inurned at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
