Max Walter MD
Max Gregory Walter, M.D., age 84 years old, passed away on May 6, 2018. He was a resident at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City for the past four years and was formerly a longtime resident of Edmond, Oklahoma. He dedicated his life to the medical profession as a radiologist working at hospitals in both Oklahoma and Wyoming. He retired in March 2009 as a practicing physician at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where he served over 21 years.

Max was born on February 24, 1934 to Max and Helen (Gregory) Walter in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Max met his beloved wife, Carolyn (Miller), at General Rose Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado and on June 11, 1961 they were married in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They then moved to Oklahoma City where they both worked in the medical profession and had three children: Christie, Eric and Ben.

He was fond of reading, photography and spending time with family. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond. He attended the University of Colorado, and graduated in 1961 with a doctorate in Medicine. He served in the United States Army for two years, was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and was honorably discharged in 1969.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his children: Christie Simons of Los Altos, California, Eric Walter and wife, Heidi, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Ben Walter and wife, Kim, of Wichita, Kansas; his sister, Barbara Papalia, of Castlerock, Colorado; and seven grandchildren: Alletta, Emma, Elliot, Samuel, Ryan, Kyle and Alec.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Shrine of Remembrance at 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado. A separate memorial service will be held at Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City at a later date in June.
