Joseph S. Estrada, age 57, passed away on June 6, 2018. He was born to Joseph Estrada Sr. and Gloria Madrid on 8/19/1960 in Trinidad, CO but spent most of his life in Colorado Springs.
Joe attended school at Corpus Christi, St. Mary's High School, and graduated from Palmer High School in 1979. After attending some community college classes, he went on to a life of three careers: first-Forest Service, where he gained his lifelong love of the outdoors, second-producing and repairing computer hardware, and third-plumber, earning his Journeyman Plumbers License in 2008. Joe worked on many projects as a plumber. His favorite was at the Air Force Academy, especially the day care, where he was affectionately known as the "Fix-it Man".
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Amy Gunning, many friends, and all of Amy's family, who adopted him as their own. He is preceded in death by his mother, his maternal grandparents, and one aunt.
Joe loved to go four-wheeling in the mountains with Amy in their beloved trucks and mountain biking with his buddies. He was a great friend; he was fun to be around, and you could always count on him to make you laugh. Wish you were still with us, but since you aren't, we are so glad you are at peace with the Lord.
Cremation has taken place through Shrine of Remembrance and a private family service will be held in Idaho at the end of June. A Celebration of Life service will be held July 7 at 10:30am at Vista Grande Community Church-UCC, located at 5460 N. Union Blvd. Reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to VGCC or a charity of your choice. Joe would love that!
