Obituary for Ethel Harder

Ethel Harder
Full of love to the very end, Ethel passed while in the care of Hospice, at the age of 93.

She was born at home on the family farm near Mtn Lake, MN, the 4th of 10 children, to the Union of George & Louise Mohlenbrock. After graduating high school, she married Aron J. Harder on November 8, 1944 in Mtn Lake. Together they had 4 children.

Ethel took sewing classes at the University of Minnesota. She was a 4-H leader for 10 years, before moving to Colorado Springs in 1969, where she worked as a clerk. After that she ran an alterations/seamstress business out of her home. Aside from sewing, Ethel also enjoyed baking, canning, working in the yard, and was on a bowling league for 35 years.

She is survived by her children: James (Kathy), Bonnie Parker (Bill Morris), Orville (Kathy) all of Colorado Springs, and Cynthia Taylor (Wayne Wesolowski) of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Norma of MN; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (1999); 3 brothers; 5 sisters; and a granddaughter.

Ethel was baptized as a child and became a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in 1969.

A viewing will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service, on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Scattering will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Rose Garden II at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Abode Hospice of CO, 1980 Dominion Way, # 101, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
