Jacqueline Marie Buttermore, 89, went to heaven to join the love of her life, September 23, 2018.
She was born August 17, 1929 to Harold and Katie Wildrix in Stockton, Kansas.
After school in Stockton, she worked at Viers Drug Store’s soda fountain. That is where Charles Buttermore first noticed her. They were married 6 weeks later. After many adventures to Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, and Kansas, they settled in Security, Colorado, where they raised 4 children.
Jacqueline retired from Kmart after 27 years. Nothing brought her more joy than cleaning her home and cooking one of her incredible meals for family and friends. She was involved in Piecemakers at Good Shepherd UMC, making paper shawls, hats for cancer patients and newborns. She also lovingly stitched many quilts. She taught us all the love of music and the house was always filled with songs. Her favorite song was Sentimental Journey.
Jacqueline is survived by her 4 children: Barry (Wendy), Susan (Don), Rebecca, and Rodney; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many friends.
Her husband of 68 years, and her parents, preceded her in death.
Services will be private.
