Ethlyn Jones
October 8, 1920 – December 2, 2018
Ethlyn Jones, age 98, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on December 2, 2018. She was born on her father’s farm near Chico, New Mexico, in 1920. She was an avid Bible student and Bible teacher. She was baptized on June 23, 1951. as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and remained faithful to this vocation until her passing.
Ethlyn has received support and encouragement from a host of “spiritual” brothers, sisters, and friends for which she and her family would like to express appreciation.
She met and married her first husband, William Howe (deceased), near Eagle Nest, New Mexico in 1940. They worked together as Bible teachers beginning in 1941. They supported themselves by cattle ranching in New Mexico and timber contracting in Colorado.
She was the mother of three children; Virginia Deltondo of Colorado Springs, John Howe of Alvaton, Kentucky, and James Howe of Tres Piedras, New Mexico.
She also has several grandchildren and great grandchildren including Andrew Deltondo of Colorado Springs, Ginger Smith of Alvaton, Kentucky, Jason Rose of Elizabethtown, Holly Howe of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Rhonda Stine of Canon City, Tammy Packard of Colorado Springs, Patricia Holmes of Bangor, Maine, and great grandchildren Shawn Packard, Amber Packard, Ashley Serna of Colorado Springs, great grandson Ain Holmes of Bangor, Maine, great great grandson Josiah Serna of Colorado Springs.
She was preceded in death by three husbands; William Howe (above), Glenn Hanson (Montrose), Arthur Jones (Colorado Springs), and granddaughter, Cindy Howe (Bowling Green, Kentucky).
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
