Alejandro Luis Trujillo

Alejandro Luis Trujillo, 86, of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 1, 2013, after a lengthy illness. He was born May 27, 1927 in Loma Parda, New Mexico. He was married on February 2, 1957 to Simona (Chavez) Trujillo.
Alex retired in 1988 after 30 years as a civil servant at the USAFA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Alex enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Simona, his children Tom Sandoval (Monica), Lou Trujillo, Diane Hermann (Eric) and Lisa Balagat, five grandsons, Adam and Marc Sandoval, Drew and Ryan Trujillo, and Nicholas Balagat, five granddaughters, Amber Trujillo, Kacie and Taylor Hermann, Sarah Sisneros (Anthony), Samantha Balagat, three great-grandsons, his brother Andres Trujillo (Carmen), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Rosa Trujillo, two brothers, Candelario and Eloy Trujillo, and two sisters, Maria Mares and Valentina Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 6, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A Rosary service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m., St. Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road, Colorado Springs 80906. Burial to take place in Sena, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
