Alfred Franklin Olme, 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Liberty Heights Assisted Living after a battle with Cancer and other illnesses. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was born in Del Norte, Colorado on October 29, 1937.

Alfred lived in Alamosa and moved to Colorado Springs in 1982 where he lived out the rest of his life.

Alfred served in the Navy for four years where he was trained to be an electrician.

Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Theresa; children: Nancy Youmans, Anna Hollingsworth, James Achatz, Barbara Corliss, and William Olme. He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and his brothers: Vernan, Carl, and Fred; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Albert; sisters: Virginia Purdy, and Ila Mae Anderson; and daughter, Carol Fuller.

Alfred liked fishing, camping, and was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan that hadn’t missed a game even when he was bed-ridden in the hospital. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the local donut shop for blueberry donuts and coffee. Alfred enjoyed his family and being outside in his yard. He also enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and friends.

Alfred will be missed by all his family and friends.

A memorial service and military honors will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A reception will follow.
