Al Britton, Jr., AKA Poppy and Al my Pal, age 67, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at his residence at Britton Nursery where he was the Owner and President since 1979.

Allen Hayes Britton, Jr., was born on March 29, 1946 in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late Allen and Anita (Horner) Britton. He was a 1964 graduate of Wasson High School, attended Bob Jones University, Luther College, and Luther Seminary. He married Lana Wilson on September 12, 1975, at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.

Al was a man of faith who was devoted to sharing the Word of God through his life, business, community and relationships. He lived all of his days proclaiming that true Treasures in Heaven are loving God and loving the people around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lana; his daughters: Kami Haggstrom (husband, Jeremy) of Aurora, Colorado, and Stephanie Thompson (husband, Kirby) of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his two brothers: Clark Britton (wife, Patti) of Falcon, Colorado and Dale Britton of Colorado Springs.

He is also survived by two amazing grandsons: Benjamin (age 10) and Britton (age 5).

A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 4:00pm at The Pinery at Black Forest, 12375 Black Forest Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions may be made to the “Al Britton, Jr. Memorial Fund” (in care of Farmers State Bank, 7025 Meridian Rd., Peyton, Colorado 80831) which will be used to continue projects Al started at Oasis of Hope Secondary School in Kenya.
