Anna Stopka, age 75, passed peacefully at her home on June 14, 2021 with her loving daughter by her side. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for a number of years, formerly a resident of Canon City for 20 years. She was owner of the American Inn motel which she ran with her husband, John.
Anna was born on April 19, 1946 in Czarny Dunajec, Poland. She met her husband John Stopka in the 6th grade, and they continued to share a beautiful life together over 50 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death in 2016.
Anyone who knew Anna knows she was revered for her incredible cooking skills and will miss the numerous dishes she would lovingly make for those she cared for. There was always an abundance of food for all to enjoy and she encouraged others to fill their hearts and bellies with as much food as they could handle. She always enjoyed decorating for the holidays. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Diane; son, Ziggy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at 1:00p.m. Monday, June 21st with Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.
