Arlene Ann Bowen, 77, died April 12, 2025, at Pikes Peak Hospice Inpatient Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born August 24, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Merle O. and Lucille Virgilmae (Sager) Wade.

Arlene had lived in Mullinville, Garden City and Wichita, Kansas and Colorado Springs. She graduated from Mullinville High School in 1965 and earned an Associate Degree in Finance.  Arlene was a bookkeeper and accountant for Schmidt Construction Company, New Outlook Foster Care, and Calvary United Methodist Church. Also, a one time truck driver. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Mullinville, Kansas.

Arlene is survived by two sons, Timathy Bowen (Sandy) of Colorado Springs and Tyler Bowen (Rosemary) of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers: Jack Merle Wade (Joy) of San Felipe, Mexico, and Virgil Wade (Sondra), Albuquerque, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Kelton and Ava Grace Bowen; as well as several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Tucker Bowen. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Hawley, and brother-in-law, Leonard Hawley.

A memorial service and celebration of Arlene’s life will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, and a graveside inurnment will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville, Kansas.
