Astrid Estes, 80, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Astrid was born April 25, 1940 in Bad Polzin, district of Belgard, Pomerania (AltenFleiss, Germany) to the late Dora Bredlau.

   Astrid married Oliver Estes on March 4, 1961, beginning a life as a proud military wife.  She worked for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service until retiring to spend more time with her mother and husband.  Together with Oliver, she enjoyed travelling Europe, watching game shows, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.  Throughout her life, Astrid was kind, compassionate, and had an unprecedented dedication to her family.  Her deep affection for her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will be her true legacy.

   Astrid is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dan) Lincicome; grandchildren, Michael Oliver (Christine) Estes and Daniel Glenn Lincicome; great grandchildren, Aiden Christopher Estes, and Mikayla Rose Estes.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver William Estes, mother, Dora Bredlau, and sister, Chris Spratt.

   A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on January 27, 2021 and the funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 28, 2021, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO.  A private burial will be held on January 29, 2021.

  1. What a beautiful reflection of and tribute to your mother. We were so fortunate to have been blessed with your parents as neighbors for so many years. They left a huge mark on all of us and their memories will be cherished. May you find peace in the knowledge that your parents are together again. Their love for one another and for their family was beautiful.

I can only imagine how excited you would be to buy a Powerball ticket with the jackpot this large. Meeting you and spending time with you visiting going to lunch coming over for coffee was so fun and I truly will miss you we both will miss you. We love you all. See you in a blink of an eye.
