Audrey Louise Hodges
Audrey Louise Hodges, age 79, passed away on January 26th, 2017. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for 36 years and was formerly a resident of Wheeling, West Virginia. She was an art instructor.
Audrey was born on June 29, 1937 to Ray Lucas and Edna (Salyers) Lucas in Wheeling, West Virginia. On August 10th, 1957, she married George Theodore “Ted” Lavelle in Wheeling, West Virginia. After Ted’s death in 1988, Audrey remarried to Dale Hodges on June 29, 1991.
Audrey was active in a number of creative pursuits; including painting and other arts and crafts activities such as crocheting, cross-stitching, stamping and card making. In her earlier years, she was also a business owner of Independent Tour Services in Wheeling, West Virginia; one of the original co-owners of Trip Savers of Colorado Springs; and was the owner of The Knotty Nook in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mountain Memories in Woodland Park, Colorado. She attended Wheeling High School in Wheeling, West Virginia, and graduated in 1955.
She is survived by her second husband, Dale Hodges; her children, Paul Lavelle and Christy Teague; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Lavelle.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
