Barbara “Bobbi” Bauernhuber passed away on July 19, 2014 in Colorado Springs just three days after her 93rd birthday. Barbara was born on July 16, 1921 in New York, New York to the late Arthur and Belle (Van Buren) Schloerb.
Barbara, a World War II veteran, met Joseph Bauernhuber during her military service. On August 10, 1946 the two were married and together raised two sons. Barbara moved to Colorado Springs from Edison, New Jersey after her husband retired from E.R. Squibbs Pharmaceutical Company. She was primarily a beloved homemaker but had many hobbies she was passionate about such as painting, sewing, cooking and photography.
Barbara is survived by her sons: Joseph Frank and John Michael (Toni) Bauernhuber; sister, Helen Bruger and her granddaughter, Jessica Ann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe and her sister, Rose Drew.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home “Veterans Honor Court” at 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
