Barbara June Heath – August 5, 2024

Barbara June Heath, long-time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 after a short illness.  Barbara was born October 13, 1937 in Coleman, Texas, one of five children of Melvin Spencer Degman and Esther Leah (Seltz) Degman.  Barbara was pre-deceased by her son, Douglas Biggs, and her husband, Gordon Heath.

Barbara worked as a baker for King Soopers grocery store and also made beautiful wedding cakes.  She was a talented seamstress and was always well-dressed, even if she was simply staying home.  Barbara loved to read, especially her Bible.  In her younger years she enjoyed traveling to visit family members.  She was very fond of Oriental art and decorated her home with lovely pieces.

Barbara is survived by her son, Jerry Biggs; and daughter, Ann-Marie Slavik; nephews, Bobby Chambers and Larry Chambers; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
