Barbara L. Thomas
Barbara L. Thomas (Kloer), 82, died May 19, 2012 at home in Colorado Springs after a lengthy illness. Barbara was born July 14, 1929 in Colorado Springs to William R. and Helen A. Kloer.
Barbara attended St. Mary’s High School, and after graduating married J. Bert Thomas. They raised six children who survive them: Guy (Neta), Mary (Hal), Rita (Don), Gary (Cindy), Linda (Steve), Carol, and her daughter-in-love, Cathy. She had eighteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, J. Bert Thomas, and her sister, Janice H. Gillette.
Barbara was a wonderful wife and mother and very devoted to her family. She was an avid quilter, former golfer, enjoyed gardening, and loved animals. She worked alongside her husband for many years as he operated a metal finishing business and Wonderland Ranch picnic area, and then as a bookkeeper for Micro Metals before retiring.
A Celebration of Her Life service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel with an open house/reception to follow. Wear bright colors in honor of Barbara.
