Barbara Lynn Knudson peacefully entered eternal life on December 17th 2015 while surrounded by loved ones. She was 76 years old.

Barbara was born in De Leon, Texas on August 19th 1939 to Cleo and Vera Jenkins. On February 17th “1961” she married Paul Duane Knudson in Denver, Colorado. Paul and Barbara moved to Colorado Springs with their three children in 1976.

Barbara returned to college after a thirty-year hiatus and proudly graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 1983. Her adoration for learning and knowledge sparked her many passions such as music, literature and travel, the latter being the majority of her career and taking her around the world. It was an obvious choice for her to become a teacher later in life and she thoroughly enjoyed over twenty years with Everest College, formerly Blair Junior College, retiring earlier this year.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Gayle Jenkins; her mother, Vera (Parker) Jenkins; her father, Cleo Jenkins; and her husband, Paul Duane Knudson.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Knudson) Wulf; her son, Timothy Knudson; her daughter Norma (Knudson) Robertson and husband Dale. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stevie Cannell, Michael Stone and wife Erin, David Nicholas and Joshua Robertson; and her great-grandchildren: Andrea, Allie, Jackson and Avery.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 26th 2015 at the “America the Beautiful” Chapel at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
