Barbara Moore, 88, of Nikiski, Alaska passed away December 28, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the home of her oldest daughter after battling complications of cancer. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren and passed gently and peacefully into the arms of Jesus.
She was born in Kalispell, Montana to Ranald and Lula McDonald. She was married to Reverend Dr. Roy Moore Jr. She was a vital part of her husband Roy’s ministry. Together they planted and developed Southern Baptist Churches in many Alaskan villages. In 1967 Roy accepted the pastorate of Faith Baptist Mission in Kenai, Alaska which later became Mt. Redoubt Baptist Church. Barbara and their four children moved to Kenai where she faithfully served that church and the community for the last six decades. Her willingness to Trust and Obey God in supporting her husband’s ministry and in raising their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to follow God is truly inspirational. She made every day special with her creative touch.
She is survived by brother Roger (Linda) McDonald; daughters Darby Yosinski, Judy Leichliter and Nancy (Doug) Scott; son Lee (Pam) Moore; grandchildren: Nathan (Wan) Dennis, Hannah (Jeremie) Poche, Melissa Evans, Taylor (Saeed) Suliaman, Makenzie Moore, and 10 great grandchildren: Jacob T., Ayla, Jaylyn, Jacob P., Madelyn, Jubilee, Braxton, Carter E., Isaac, Eli, and one great-great grandchild Carter M.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Reverend Roy Moore Jr., her parents Ranald and Lula McDonald, her sister Lavon Price, and her grandson Derek Leichliter.
