Betty A. Finley-Gamblin, 80, found peace on December 13, 2015. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 51 years.
Betty was born January 1, 1935 in Pueblo, Colorado, to Wilbur J. and Amy L. Curtsinger. There she met the love of her life, Mathis Hardy Finley. Married March 9, 1956, they became the proud parents of two daughters, Connie and Bonnie. They celebrated 23 years together before Matt’s passing. Betty remarried Gerald Gamblin February 16, 1985, spending 7 years together prior to his death. She is survived by her children, Dave and Connie Rowton, Jeff and Bonnie Ulrich; granddaughters Aimee Rutan and Amanda Ulrich; great grandson Alek Margary; and brother Joseph Curtsinger. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Evelyn Leatherman and Jeannie Hayes.
Betty was a wife, mother, special education school bus driver, and a housekeeper for First Lutheran Church, where she also founded the “fleece blanket” ministry. She volunteered at the Olympic Training Center, Mitchell High School, First Lutheran Church, and Penrose Community Hospital. Betty was a licensed beautician, a Notary Public, a Legion of Honor Bluebird, and started a Bunco club. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Denver Broncos.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. December 19th at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs. The funeral will be December 21st at 10:00 a.m., also at the Shrine. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

If asked, Betty would say life had been simply “mah-velous.”
