Betty passed away at the age of 101 in Colorado Springs where she had resided since 1973. Betty was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on November 8, 1921. Her husband, John, preceded her in death in 1964. Her daughter, Lynn Deiter, preceded her in death on September 26, 2008.
Betty served as an army nurse in England in World War II. On June 21, 1945, she arrived home on the Queen Mary which carried 14,526 troops, 400 of which were women. From there on she continued to work as a nurse in Butler, Pennsylvania, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lutz (Steve); adopted daughter, BĂ© Goodlin (Wayne); great grandson, Christopher Lutz; as well as nieces and nephews.
Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Private services are planned.
