Billy Lee Plummer, Jr., 47, a long-time resident of Mitchell, South Dakota, passed away on February 13, 2015 in Colorado Springs. Billy was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 4, 1967 to Billy Lee Plummer, Sr. and Helen (Wallace). For more than a decade, he worked quality control at Twin City Fan in Mitchell, South Dakota and would often mention how he missed working with his many friends at the company. He was also a United States Army National Guard Veteran.

Billy’s interests included spending time with his beloved dog, Molly-Magoo-Goozer, his family and friends, fishing, woodwork, watching football and sight-seeing.

Eight months ago, Billy moved from Mitchell, South Dakota to Colorado to live with his sister and her family. This was a good experience for him because he was able to spend time with family and made many new friends. He was also happy to be reunited with his childhood friend, Kay Lyn Reed of Denver.

Billy is survived by his mother, Helen; sister, Billie Jo (Gary) Garner; nieces: Breanne “Bree”, Cheyenne and Ciara Garner; his love and dear friend, Candi Blasius and her children (his step-kids): Shianne “Punky” and Ethan who remained close to the end. He also remained close to his step-daughter, Shannon and her children. Billy is preceded in death by his father.

Billy asked that his ashes be scattered in the beautiful wooded areas in Mitchell, South Dakota and the mountains of Colorado. Per his request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations may be made to GARNER, P.O. Box 60631, Colorado Springs, CO 80960 for the medical care and treatment of his elderly pet, Molly-Magoo-Goozer.

Billy’s family wish to extend their sincere thanks to his many friends in South Dakota and Colorado.

  1. Helen I just found out this is Calvin Bessent I was Billy’s roommate in Springfied SD, I talked to you on the phone. Im so sorry for your loss, what happened?

    1. Hello Calvin, I am sorry it’s taken over a year to respond, but I just ran across your message. My brother, Billy passed away five and a half years ago. He had stage 4 lung cancer that rapidly took his life in less than a year from when he was initially diagnosed. He was misdiagnosed several times being told he had pneumonia and was hospitalized three times before they determined it was in fact, lung cancer. The situation was sad and he was only 47 years old. Again, sorry I am just now getting back to you.
      – Billie Jo Garner, Billy’s sister
