“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”
Bobby Havens, age 47, passed away on March 24, 2025. He was a life-long resident of Colorado Springs. He was a sheet metal worker and proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #9 for the past 24 years. Bobby was born on February 23, 1978, to Michael Clinton Havens and Laura Lee Sharpe (Melonas) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On March 21, 2023, he married Tammy Havens (Rahaim) in Black Forest, Colorado.
Bobby loved his family and friends dearly and was always ready to lend a hand. Bobby was skilled at all mechanical things and could figure out how to fix any problem he encountered with cars, HVAC, machinery, or things around the house; he was a real-life MacGyver. Bobby enjoyed learning about technology and sharing that learning with others, especially anything that had to do with helping people get free or cheap cable (until he had to be tech support, haha). He made strong connections and life-long friendships with his wonderful union brothers and sisters. He was also the best storyteller and recalled such details and retold stories with such animation you could picture them. He often dreamed about writing children’s books with animals as the main characters to tell the story of his life and his main character was going to be Ricky Raccoon.
Bobby loved being a father and husband and loved wrestling and playing fetch with his furry companion, Taters. Bobby came to know God on May 30, 2022, and was baptized on August 14th of that year. His heart was on fire for God, and he loved to share his testimony and love for Jesus. He was a member of Life.Church Colorado Springs where he served on the parking team and was a member of The Forge men’s group. He attended Sierra and Wasson High Schools and graduated in 1996. His smile and laughter were infectious, and he will be dearly missed by so many.
He is survived by his loving wife Tammy Havens (Rahaim); his children: Alex Havens and Aaron Havens; stepchildren: Troy Hobbs, Alejandra Hobbs (Noonan), Tara Hobbs, and Donovan Barrat; his parents: Michael Havens, Laura Sharpe (Melonas) and Ed Sharpe (stepfather); aunt Nancy Melonas; his stepsiblings: Sarah (Sharpe) and Lennon Cisneros and Reid Sharpe and a plethora of cousins that were more like brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by grandparents: Milton Vincent and Josephine Marie Melonas (Sporcich) and Ralph Clinton and Patsy Ann Havens, and many loving aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 5th at Shrine of Remembrance located at 1730 East Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A reception will occur at Life.Church Colorado Springs, 9306 Grand Cordera Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80924 after the memorial, additional details will be shared later. For those who choose to attend, please feel free to wear your favorite Christian shirts or attire that reminds you of Bobby. It will be a casual event. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in Bobby’s name to the Hope is Alive Recovery Home at https://give.hopeisalive.net/give/317438/#!/donation/checkout.
