Bok Hui Na, longtime resident of Colorado Springs and a beloved co-matriarch of her family, passed from this world to God’s hands on April 15, 2015 in the presence of loved ones. Born February 28, 1947 in Seocheon, South Korea to Kyong Dan Yi, mother, and Sang Hak Na, father, Bok Hui immigrated to the United States on July 4, 1979 and took up residence in Colorado Springs to be with family. She has been here ever since.
Anyone who knew Bok Hui knew her simply as “Imo,” which means Maternal Aunt in Korean, or “Han Yang,” referring to the Korean grocery store the family owned in the community. Imo dedicated her life to her family and the family business making how people referred to her even more fitting.
Bok Hui leaves behind her sister, Jeannie Henderson, her nephew, Timothy Henderson, her niece, Jennifer Henderson, and a host of other family, friends and special, furry companion, “Chitchat.” Bok Hui was preceded in passing by her father, Sang Hak Na, her brother, Young Hui Na, and her Mother, Kyong Dan Yi.
A visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Shrine of the Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
