Bonnie G. Crane, 96, passed away on August 15, 2014. For many years she was a restaurant owner and operator in Springfield, Illinois. Years later she worked as a front desk supervisor for Holiday Inn.
Bonnie was born on July 20, 1918 to Roy E. and Myrtle (Dildine) Wakefield. She married George W. (Bill) Crane on August 5, 1939 in Everett, Washington.
In 1984 she and her husband retired and moved from Springfield, Illinois to Colorado Springs, Colorado. They traveled the states for several years in their motor home, wintering in Arizona. In her retirement she focused on her love of painting and cooking.
She is survived by a son, Robert M. Crane of Georgetown, Texas; a daughter, Georgene King and her husband Bill of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Roger King, Scott Crane, Michelle Haley, Mike Crane; great grandchildren Tasha King, Kevin Haley, Emily King, Jarod Haley, Lane Crane; and great great grandchildren Cassiah, Aniah and Nevaeh Nugin.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger Lynn; her parents and her husband; brothers Ray, Ralph and Albert Wakefield; and sister Pearl Renox.
Private inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, August 23 at Discovery Church, 4304 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., Colorado Springs. An open house celebration of life will follow at her home.
