Bonnie Jean Sprenger
Bonnie Jean Sprenger, age 86, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1963, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 9, 2012. She was an Air Force wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Bonnie Jean Woodley was born on January 1, 1926 in Hampton, Iowa to the late Orville and Kate (Nivens) Woodley. She was a 1944 graduate of Donnellson High School in Donnellson, Iowa. She married Raymond Willis Sprenger on June 29, 1947 in Fort Madison, Iowa. Together they raised their family and served their country in the Air Force at various assignments in Germany and the U.S.
Mrs. Sprenger is survived by her beloved husband, LTC Raymond W. Sprenger, USAF (Ret.) of Colorado Springs; and their children: Cindy (Stan) Scherr, Suzanne (Steve) Willis, Steve (Gail) Sprenger, and Sheila (Bill) Carter, all of Colorado Springs. She has eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Woodley.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Private interment is planned at Evergreen Cemetery.
