Brigitte Bunevich, 84, passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2017. She fought a long and arduous battle with Myelofibrosis prior to her passing. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 35 years.
Brigitte was born on December 21, 1932 in Pforzheim, Germany. She met and married Lt. Peter Bunevich on December 19th, 1955 in Pforzheim, Germany.
Brigitte and Peter travelled on many military assignments throughout the United States and Germany.
Brigitte was an avid skier, tennis player and duplicate bridge player. Peter and Brigitte enjoyed their time in Aspen, Colorado skiing, hiking, swimming and listening to music. Brigitte volunteered at the Aspen Music Festival for many years. She also was an Ambassador for Aspen Ski Corporation where she led skiers around Buttermilk Mountain. She also assisted Gretl Uhl at Gretl’s Restaurant at the top of Aspen Mountain.
Brigitte is survived by her husband, Peter Bunevich of Colorado Springs; her son, Steven Bunevich and wife Stephanie; her daughter, Pam and husband Paul. Brigitte had five grandchildren: Ryan, Kaley (husband Nick), Luke, Garrett and Evan, as well as two great-grandchildren: Kaiden and Camdyn.
The family has chosen to have a personal service for the family only. Brigitte will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Denver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
