Bruce Noel Del Porte
Bruce Noel Del Porte, a resident of Colorado Springs for 15 years, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, peacefully in his home. He was a retired engineer who worked as a Program Manager in the semi-conductor and aerospace industries.
Bruce was born on June 27, 1955 to Karl Del Porte and Natalie (Hasbrook) Del Porte in Joliet, Illinois.
Throughout his life, Bruce enjoyed the Colorado outdoors, photography and live music. He was an award winning animator. As a Program Manager, he was very proud of his work on several space programs. He was generous with his time and created a college scholarship program at his alma mater, Stevens Institute of Technology. Even though Bruce was a private man, he had many loyal and longtime friends.
He is survived by his brothers: Michael (Sharon) Del Porte, Scott (Jean) Del Porte, Tom (Mercedes) Del Porte; his sister, Lynn Del Porte; his nephew, Michael; and nieces: Kimberly and Sofia; and his companion, Gloria Crossett. A memorial service will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., on June 20 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. with a eulogy at 4:00 p.m. A celebration will follow at the “Hotel Bar” at The Broadmoor.
