August 6, 1964 – May 20, 2022
Early Friday morning on the 20th of May, Carl’s heart stopped beating.
He was born in Colorado Springs to Richard and Charlotte Akmenkalns on August 6, 1964. At the age of 18 he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. Whenever it was possible, he would drive home to visit.
When he got out of the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Terry Reynolds. They went to the justice of the peace. While saying his vows his legs shook so hard his teeth rattled. They were blessed with one son, Randy.
One of his favorite pastimes was playing pool with his Uncle Joe. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry; his father, Richard; sister, Anita; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his son, Randy; his mother, Charlotte; sister, Karen (Dewey) Benson; sister, Cheryl (Wesley) Close; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
