Carl Leroy Cooper, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2016, after living a very good life for over 102 years. He had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1977. He previously lived in Denver where he owned and operated a restaurant for 8 years and was also a master auto mechanic. Carl served in the Army Air Force during WW II as a B17 aircraft mechanic in Africa and in Italy. He was the oldest of 9 children. Carl was born in Greenfield, Oklahoma, where he lived and graduated from High School in 1932.
Carl is survived by his wife of 11 years, Doris Czeschin Cooper; step son-in law William MacEnulty and his wife Kay of Colorado
Springs; two step daughters: Marjorie Pilch of Milford, Texas and Connie Czeschin Duckels of Colorado Springs; three sisters: Betty Westmoreland of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Erma Cooper of Kingfisher, Oklahoma and Sue Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and a brother: Lawrence Cooper of Sayre, Oklahoma. Carl is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Carrie Cooper, his siblings Eva Havlovic, James Cooper, Alice Hink, and Lily Hanks. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Viola Warner Cooper and his second wife Ethel Long Cooper and his step daughter Dora Miller.
Per Carl’s wishes no services are planned. He will be cremated, and a private inurnment will follow at the Shine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Veteran’s Honor Court, Rose Garden I.
