1952-2024
Carol passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado of natural causes. Born in Elkhart, Kansas on April 27, 1952 to Harley and Dorothy Forrest, she was the first of four children followed by: Cindy (Dalton), Marty and Mark Forrest.
Carol worked for many local attorneys. She enjoyed her education and being a part of the legal system in our community. One of her favorite quotes was, “Nevertheless, she persisted”. Carol exemplified this in her life by completing academic degrees in her 40s and 50s culminating with a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University. Along with her love of law and learning, she enjoyed travel, crafting specialty cards, her dogs, children, grandchildren and gardening.
Carol was a bright, optimistic, loyal, giving and caring person. She was a volunteer in the ER at Penrose Community Hospital, participated at school functions as her children completed Manitou school attendance, assisted “the Cure” and finally was a participant in Donors Alliance.
She is survived by her siblings; spouse, Gregory M. Nagel; children: Cory, Vanessa and Jesse Nagel, all of Colorado Springs; along with her four very loved grandchildren: Jixx, Violet and Raenes Nagel and Josephine Lane. She was predeceased by her parents and one child, Victoria Alise Nagel, born August 17, 1983, who Carol described as “perfect in every way”.
Services will be held July 19th at 10 am at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, or National Mill Dog Rescue.
