Catherine Ronette Benson, age 65, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on July 5, 2024.  She was a resident of Colorado Springs for the last 24 years.  Catherine was born on September 9, 1958, to Ronald Henry Shoffner and Edith Sue McCormick in Bakersfield, California.  She graduated from Sterling High School in Sterling, Colorado, in 1977

Above all, she was a kind, caring, and loving person. She always put others needs before her own. She always made everyone laugh and smile with her “one of a kind” wit, sense of humor, and her beautiful smile.

Catherine, also known as “Ronnie” to her friends, was a passionate mother and grandmother, whose first priority was always her kids and whose motivation for everything, including work, was to provide the best life possible for them.  At home she loved cooking and was always the chef for her children. She also enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.  She shared her love of movies, and her obsession for the Denver Broncos, freely.  At work she brought that same passion to her customer service roles, always taking care of customers like they were family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremiah Wray Benson; daughter, Janee Benson; parents, Ronald and Edith; and adoptive parents, Everett and Dorthy Duncan.

She is survived by her loving husband, Steven Bartosz of Colorado Springs, CO; child, Jason Michael Benson, and granddaughter, Saria Janee Benson, of Julesburg, CO; her brothers, Steve Shoffner of Rocky Ford, CO, and Rob (Ginger) Shoffner of Aurora, CO; and her nephew, Bryce (Amanda) Shoffner of Colorado Springs, CO.  She is also survived by many close family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life / Memorial service will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance at 1730 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2 p.m.  Scattering of ashes to immediately follow in the Rose Garden.  A reception will follow at 4 p.m. at Antelope Ridge Clubhouse, 4001 Gray Fox Heights, Colorado Springs, CO.
