Charlene Marietta passed away on May 24, 2022. She was surrounded by family and close friends. She was born in Arizona and moved all over with the rest of her family, as her dad was in the military. When her family settled in Colorado Springs, she also called Colorado Springs home. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and went on to study cosmetology. She loved making other people look beautiful and worked for many years as a hairstylist. Later she worked with family as a caregiver at the assisted living center that Herb and Lucille owned.
Over the years, Charlene became known for her happy personality, infectious smile, funny jokes, and made friends wherever she went. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She is survived by her parents, Herbert and Lucille (Silva) Marietta, her daughter Elizabeth Trujillo, her granddaughter, Saige Trujillo, her sister Sheila Marietta, her brother Herbert Marietta, Jr., her brother Charles Marietta, all of Colorado Springs, and sister Cynthia Calhoun (John) of Waynesville, North Carolina. Charlene is also survived by her niece Ashley Cryer (John) of Hinesville, GA, her nephew Marcos Marietta of Colorado Springs, Maverick Marietta of Georgia, and numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Marietta of The Woodlands, Texas.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
