Charles Kirby passed away January 21, 2015 in Arizona where he had lived for the past three years.
He was born February 14, 1922 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and was in the 88th Infantry Division stationed in Italy. He married Mary Elizabeth Spencer who preceded him in death.
Charles was the Exalted Ruler for the Elks Lodge #309 from 1965 – 1966. He retired from Mountain Bell Telephone in 1977. After retiring he loved to travel, dance, fish, hunt, and play his harmonica.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandi Tychewicz; his son, Charles “Chuck” Kirby, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private entombment will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
