Randy lived the fullest life possible for the glory of God.
He was born on June 26th, 1954, in Portland, Oregon, as the second child of Charles and Jo Green. Randy’s parents were called to serve Jesus Christ as missionaries in Argentina where Randy’s formative years took place. Randy graduated high school via correspondence in Argentina. He attended Western Bible College in Denver, Colorado. There he met the love of his life, Marlene Barkey. As his mother Jo would say, he married a woman better than he deserved.
Randy and Marlene sensed a call to gospel ministry overseas as missionaries, but while attending Denver Seminary he began a career in law enforcement. He joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department where he served for 2 years.
Randy and Marlene then moved to Los Angeles where he joined the LA Sheriff’s Department and started a church. He served as a Pastor during the day and a deputy sheriff at night. During this time, he had a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit while working in the jail that would forever change His life. He had always been a fearless person, but now he became fearless in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In 1988 Randy and Marlene moved to Caracas, Venezuela, to join Randy’s parents in church planting. Randy was gifted by God’s grace with great faith. Not only did he plant several churches, he also began a ministry to the police in Caracas that bore much fruit for the Kingdom of God. It caused such a change that the Venezuelan government ordered him to stop. In 1998, Randy was invited by the government of Guatemala to help provide training to the police. He gave a Bible to every police officer in the country. They spent 3 years in Guatemala. During this time, Randy received invitations to minister to the police in other countries. Over the next 25 years Randy led teams of trainers, preached the gospel, and gave encouragement to thousands of police officers in many countries and in the United States.
Randy and Marlene moved to Colorado Springs in 2002. Randy continued his international gospel work, but also began outreaches in the front range of Colorado. He felt burdened by the difficulty of police work and the lack of Christian faith in American culture. His great love was to encourage police officers and share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ that had so greatly blessed his life. He and Marlene also planted Living Springs church in Manitou Springs. They would go out weekly to share the gospel and knock on doors to talk about the hope and salvation only Jesus can give.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jo Green, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Hill.
He is survived by his siblings: Barbara (Mark) Bailey, Steve (Marijean) Green, David (Judy) Green, and Grace Hill.
He has left a great legacy of faith, hope, and love in Marlene, his wife of 46 years, and his 5 children: Ben (Jill) Green, Nate (Meagan) Green, JJ (Melinda) Green, Andrew (Christie) Green, and Rachel (Peter) Staker; along with his 22 grandchildren.
We will forever thank God for Randy’s life and faithfulness to follow Jesus and bring many people with him into the Kingdom of God.
A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., both at the World Prayer Center at New Life Church at 11005 Voyager Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80921. He will be interred at Haxtun Cemetery in Haxtun, Colorado.

22 Jan 2025Our hearts are shattered finding out that Randy has passed away. Our prayers are with you Marlene and your family. Randy was one of the most amazing men I have EVER had the honor of knowing. He and Marlene are amazing friends, mentors, and family to Rob McIntire , Xavier and I. I wish we had taken more pictures together. He was like a father to us. I can’t even count how many times Randy has shown up and been there for us through the hard times, as well as celebrating us through the good times. This is a man of God that shined so bright you feel like you can see the Holy Spirit in his eyes and you can feel Jesus presents around him. This man brought someone to the Lord everywhere he went. It didn’t matter if it was a gas station or a restaurant or a little kid or a family. Randy was an evangelist at its finest. He was the kind of man that you could tell anything to without judgment (and I mean anything) Randy was so encouraging and so comforting and full of the power and the presence of God and one heck of a prayer Warrior. He was so real and so authentic. We are so honored to be his friends and we are so honored to have known him. Randy, we will miss you so much. We will miss your laugh and amazing since of humor, your prayers and presence. Until we meet again, we will find comfort in knowing you are in the arms of Jesus😭💔🙌🙏

23 Jan 2025We have delighted in supporting Randy and Marlene’s ministry for over 28 years, praying over our little donation to multiply spiritual fruit. Having a restaurant meal with Randy was a treat—seeing the wait staff ask him questions about the heaven. How? Why? Just hearing his conversation and his natural laughter—an authentic follower of his Lord.

23 Jan 2025My life was greatly impacted by Randy. While Randy was on furlough in Haxtun, CO in 1991, I was called to pastor the Haxtun Berean Church. When I arrived in October I discovered that a group of four men were having an early Friday morning prayer meeting in the pastor’s office (now my office). This continued for over a month and then one day Randy invited me to the prayer meeting. He said they had been praying about me , as to whether or not “I was the real deal.” Apparently they determined I was, because they invited me to join them!
I had never prayed with such a group of men and I have never reproduced that precious time of prayer on our knees with another group of men since that time. In many ways, Randy taught me to pray. It has been our privilege to support Randy and Marlene and their ministry since those days in Haxtun. I am grateful to God for the impact Randy made on my life and ministry. Marlene, I know you and the family will miss Randy dearly, but what a joy to know he gave his life to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in whose presence he now abides!

23 Jan 2025I’m sure this is difficult for you, Marlene, as well as the rest of the family! Randy was a godly man who loved his Savior and was eager to tell anyone who would listen about knowing Jesus. We pretty much grew up together from Costa Rica through 8th grade. And God blessed us with the opportunity to minister together in La Puente, where we got to know you and the kids you had at that point so much better.
So glad that we don’t grieve as the world does because we know that Randy’s reveling in the very presence of his Savior now. And we will be reunited with him in glory!
Karen and I are praying that our Heavenly Father’s promised comforting presence will be your anchor in this time of loss.

23 Jan 2025Marlene and family,
It was an honor to be led by Randy on the many trips we did together. Just a couple of days ago we talked about him never missing a moment to share the gospel with anyone that crossed his path, even in the restaurant with the waiters. That was so special to us. Thank you for investing in our lives. Christa and I pray God’s comfort, peace and strength over you and the entire family.

24 Jan 2025Randy and Marlene : God’s team. That is the title I had in my mind when I first met them. I don’t think they knew that their boundless love would open the mind and heart of Clinton and answered my many questions. In the 10 years that we would see them monthly- I wondered if they noticed the change in our lives, Like many lives. We will miss Randy and support Marlene. Rest in peace our brother in Christ.

24 Jan 2025Like Emery Esse, it was a huge blessing partnering with MMI in training police in 15 different states in Mexico during the middle of the drug cartel wars and then sharing our personal testimonies of how Christ made a huge difference in our law enforcement careers. Randy had a profound way of sharing the simple gospel message to literally thousands of state and federal police and by God’s mercy bringing hundreds if not thousands of lost souls into His kingdom. I witnessed personally the way God spoke through Randy as a vessel of His of also bringing many hundreds of national police to the Lord in Colombia and El Salvador.
We grieve for Marlene and her entire family over Randy’s sudden loss. Our hope is in Christ and this loss is only a temporary separation.
Deepest condolences from Paul & Ann Vick

25 Jan 2025We will forever hold sacred the time we got to spend with Randy and Marlene while we lived in Colorado. Randy helped us grow in our faith and always spoke kindness, love and truth into our lives in the most gentle way. His boldness in evangelism led us to step out and go knocking door to door with them. We enjoyed being in their presence and soaked up every minute of the one on one time. Through our time together, Randy and Marlene both helped us grow deeper in our faith and watered the seeds they planted. We are grateful for Randy’s life and know without a doubt he’s dancing for joy being with his Creator. His light will continue to
shine even in his absence. We are eager to see him again one day! God bless!

28 Jan 2025Randy was a humble, quiet and intensive servant of his Lord, Jesus Christ! I rejoice that he and Marlene came to us in Pennsylvania and participated in the training with Pointman Leadership Institute!! The great joy of Marlene’s presence was impressionable! Randy was a man of powerful conviction related to an uncompromising faith in Christ! I always longed to work alongside of him!!! Habakkuk 3:17-19

31 Jan 2025Just a brief interaction with Randy in West Covina about 40 years ago gave me a burst of spiritual adrenaline that has stayed with me all this time. How blessed the many members of law enforcement and others must have been by his ministry through the years!
