February 14, 1954 – November 4, 2024

Christine M. Dustin, age 70, passed away at home on November 4, 2024, with her husband at her side.

Chris was born on February 14, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Christian D. Beierle and Joyce M. (Kaniasty) Beierle.

Her early years were spent in Germany and Colorado as an Army brat. Chris was very fond of her time in Germany and spoke of her experiences many times.

After graduating from Widefield High School in ’72, she married Doug Dustin and spent the next three years traveling the east coast of the United States as a Navy wife. Upon returning to Colorado Springs, Chris began her career with the City of Colorado Springs and completed her B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Regis University. Chris retired from the City in 2006 as the Finance Manager for the Colorado Springs Airport and was part of the move from the old airport to the new airport that we know today. Chris made many friends at the City and kept in touch with them throughout the years.

Chris also loved to travel. She and Doug spent many happy vacations on the beaches in Mexico and Florida where she would spend hours gathering special seashells to bring home.

Chris loved her dogs and cats and also her outdoor pets: the deer, wild turkeys, and bears.
Her hobby was gardening, both vegetables and flowers. Chris loved to spend time planning her gardens and was so pleased when they were bountiful and beautiful.

Chris is survived by her loving husband, Doug; her sister, Darlene Kennedy (William); her sister-in-law, Deborah Puckett (Dennis); her nieces, Shawn Stevenson and Michelle Hillerby (Greg); and her grand-niece, Chloe Stevenson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A reception will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center at 975 S. Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
