Christopher Lee Brownlow
Christopher Lee Brownlow, 52, was called to heaven on April 27, 2013, from battling Multiple Myeloma in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Chris was born October 21, 1960 in Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from West Virginia State College in 1982 and served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1989. Chris worked for the City of Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation taking great joy in setting up programs for children, regardless of economic status, color or disability. He was a Board Member of Habitat for Humanity, and various community organizations. He served in ministries throughout the church and Via de Cristo. Chris will leave behind a memory of encouragement and friendship, making every person he met feel important and special.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; and three children: David Hairston from Westfield, Indiana, Logan Baumgarn from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and Jordan Brownlow from here in Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren: Aiden, Owyn, and Anneliese; his brothers and sisters: Sylvia and Alfonso Hooper, Howard Brownlow, Paul Brownlow, Jeff (deceased) and Judy Brownlow, and Beverly Brownlow; along with numerous nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Brownlow; and his brother, Jeff Brownlow.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow at the church’s Hiller Hall.
