Claire Sherman Pitcher, 88, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died Monday, November 27, 2017, in Colorado Springs, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Earl R. Pitcher.
Born in Wakefield, Rhode Island, July 13, 1929, a daughter of the late Stuart A. and Mary A. (Brown) Sherman, she was a resident of South County for over 50 years, moving to Colorado Springs in 1986.
She was a former member of Perryville Baptist Church in Rhode Island, and a member of the Chapel Hills Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She leaves two sons, Peter E. Pitcher of Punta Gorda, Florida and Paul S. Pitcher of Wood River Junction, Rhode Island; a daughter, Jane P. Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Stuart A. Sherman Jr. and David F. Sherman of Perryville, Rhode Island; three grandsons, David Pitcher of Spokane, Washington, William Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Joshua Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a granddaughter, Stephanie Thiele of Andover, Massachusetts; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Perryville Baptist Church.
