Clarence (Clare) Hempel, 81, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 16, 2015 after a long struggle with cancer. Born April 8, 1934 to Herbert and Elsie (Brucksch) Hempel in Milwaukee, WI.
Clare enjoyed music, playing the tuba in High School and the bag pipes with the band at Fort Carson.
His love and expertise of cars, sports cars and trains brought much happiness into his life.
Clare was a devoted and deeply loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, finding joy in them and bringing smiles to them with his quick wit and sense of humor. His goodness will be remembered forever, particularly his gentlemanly charm, his appetite for knowledge and his never ending guidance and support. He gave kindness and understanding to everyone. He truly had a beautiful soul.
Clare leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eva, of 52 years; daughter, Laurette Cardillo; son-in-law, Pete Cardillo; two granddaughters, Meghan Harris and Katie Cardillo; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Hempel.
Clare we love you. You will be greatly missed. May you be at peace in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You have finally reached your final Pit Stop.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance, “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.
