Claudio James Payne, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Claudio was born on November 14, 1991 in Colorado Springs to Jaime Claudio Payne and Linda Rae (Jimenez) Medina. He graduated from Wasson High School and earned his associate’s degree from Intellitech in Colorado Springs. He liked working on vehicles and also was an auto mechanic.
He loved life and enjoyed playing sports. He was a wrestler during junior high and high school and also participated in ROTC and numerous other activities.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Rae Medina (Jesse Jr.); his father, Jaime Claudio Payne (Lisa); two brothers, Josiah Medina and Jaime Payne; a sister, Marquina Payne (Robert); a step-sister, Destiny Bargas; his grandparents, Virgine and James Payne; his beloved dog, Zypher; and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins all from different areas.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A Rosary will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80905, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. and with a reception to follow at the church for all in attendance. Following the reception, a committal service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.

26 Jan 2025Claudio, I am so thankful that I got to meet you in this life, of all the people that you and I have run into and met you were one of the realest ones and what I loved most about you was like me you would help anybody and everybody without judgment. I can’t believe that you are gone you were always there for me when I needed you you were always an ear that would listen you always had a shoulder that I could cry on, and in the midst of the tears you would do something incredibly off the wall just to lighten up the mood and get me to laugh. I appreciate you for being my friend and my family. I am thankful to know that you are in a better place and that you are no longer in pain and no longer in fear of if there was going to be a tomorrow. You will forever be remembered and live in my heart and you will never be forgotten. Till we meet again I love you sleep with the angels baby boy.
