Cloran Arden “Nick” Powers, Jr., a resident of Colorado Springs since 1951, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016. He was a Plumbing Foreman with the Civil Service and a United States Army Veteran. He was also a life member of VFW Post 4051.
Cloran was born on September 4, 1931 in Canton, Illinois to Cloran and Catherine (Jordan) Powers. He married Mabel M. Lambrecht on April 14, 1952, and they were happily married for 64 years.
He was a very giving and caring person who was always willing to help others. He was devoted to his wife and family. His kindness will forever be remembered lovingly by his family and friends and he will be extremely missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel M. Powers; his son, Cloran “Shane” Powers; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Ann Brannan; and two sons, Roy R. Pierce and Richard A. Powers.
A visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 US-85, Colorado Springs, CO 80911 with a Funeral Mass to follow at noon. Burial will then take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
