May 1, 1934 – April 25, 2019
Tom was born on May 1, 1934, in Trimountain, MI, the 5th child of William and Nan Mitchell.
After graduating high school, he joined the U. S. Air Force and served his country honorably for almost 26 years. Traveling the world as a crew chief, repairing aircraft engines, he was awarded the Bronze Star and many other medals.
He worked for the postal service for 10 years, after retiring from the Air Force
Tom is survived by his wife, Del; and a host of kids and grandkids. He was loved and admired for his integrity and generosity.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs. Private burial will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at a later date.
