Paul J. Andrews, CMSgt U.S. Air Force, Ret., 75, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away Thursday, February 16th, 2023, at Memorial Central Hospital.

Paul was born February 6th, 1948, in Brockton, MA, the son of James H. and Marguerite P. Andrews (Kavanaugh). He graduated from Brockton High School (1967) and received his Associate of Arts in General Studies from Pikes Peak State College (1982). Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 5th, 1967. He completed both basic and security police training at Lackland AFB in Texas. Shortly after Paul was assigned to the 633 Security Police Sq. in Pleiku AB, Vietnam. During his career in Security Police/Law Enforcement, he would eventually cross train into the First Sergeant field with duties stateside and overseas. Paul’s last assignment was with the 21st Space Wing as the Senior Enlisted Advisor. He retired from active duty on November 30th, 1996, at Peterson AFB after almost thirty years of service in the United States Air Force. 

His awards and decorations include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with Five Devices; Air Force Commendation Medal with One Device; Vietnam Service Medal with Four Devices; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device; National Defense Service Medal with Device; Air Force Longevity Service Medal with Six Devices; Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor and Eight Devices.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marguerite Andrews.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jerry (Jeri) A. Andrews; his three children, Paul Andrews Jr. (Linda), Todd Andrews (Ahnna), and Julia Pond (Justin); his eight grandchildren, Kaylee, Mason, Caiden, Owen, Cambria, Dayton, Megan, and Emily: his great grandchild, Lennon; and his siblings, James  Andrews, Sister Patricia Andrews CSJ, Janet Smith, Susan Orme; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Memorial service will be held on March 6th, 2023, at the Shrine of Remembrance (1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Co Springs, CO 80910). The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow with Deacon Rudy Gonzales officiating. Full military honors will be conferred by active members of the Air Force Honor Guard. Paul will be laid to rest at a later date in the Pikes Peak National Cemetery.

  2. I am so sorry for your families loss. Paul was an amazing man whom I was honored to have met and know. I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend as I’ll be out of country that day.
