Col. Joseph U. Ripko, age 95, passed away on October 11, 2015. He was a resident of Santa Clarita, California for 13 years and was formerly a resident of Colorado Springs.

Joseph Ripko was born on August 4th, 1920 to Michael Ripko and Valeria (Flak) Ripko in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania.

“Rip”, as he would encourage people to call him (Papa, to family), was fond of golf, bowling, and hand ball. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Joseph attended University of Maryland -Germany, 1948-1949, Air Command Staff College, 1956; Manpower Resource Course, George Washington University, 1952; Personnel Management, 1949; Air Tactical School, 1948, Officer Candidate School, 1942.

Joseph served in the United States Air Force, for over 30 years and amassed an impressive array of assignments that took Joseph and his family to the four-corners of the globe.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Joene Lasky; his devoted stepson, Aron Lasky; his granddaughter, Natalie Lovell; his great-grandchildren: Adam and Byam Lovell. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene; son, Ronald J. Ripko; grandson, Daniel J. Hall; and many friends, family, and colleagues.

A Service and Scattering will be held Shrine of Remembrance, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24th at Rose Garden I.
