Col. Konstantine “Dino” Kalandros

Konstantine “Dino” Kalandros, a Colorado Springs resident since 1977, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012. He was a skilled and highly respected anesthetist.
He was born on February 17, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland to Louis and Kounia (Stamatakis) Kalandros. He served his country in the Army for 24 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. During his service he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, and the Bronze Star Medal.
Dino is survived by his wife, Barbara Kalandros; two sons: Michael (wife Erin) and Steve (wife Dianna) Kalandros; a sister, Irene Papas; two grandchildren: Sophia and Isabel; and two nieces: Tina and Barbara Papas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Basil Kalandros.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012, followed by a Trisagion Service at 7:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.
