Cynthia M. Liebowitz, age 87, passed away from a short battle with cancer on November 29, 2019. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 58 years and was a dedicated homemaker.
Cynthia was born on November 4th, 1932 to Alfred and Jeanetta Nutt in Worcester, England. In 1953, she met Stanford Liebowitz while he was stationed in England with the United States Air Force. They were married August 2, 1954 in England and moved to the United States shortly after, where she then became a U.S. citizen.
Cynthia loved caring for her grandchildren and was fond of gardening, playing bingo, cards, and watching football, especially the Denver Broncos.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stanford C. Liebowitz, and her daughter, Kim Liebowitz. She is survived by her children Steven Liebowitz and his wife Jenny, Lee-Ann Dubois and her husband Richard, Gary Liebowitz, and Lisa Gifford and her husband John. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christine Sorden (Bobby), Kendra Ramirez (Arturo), Kim Dubois, Sarah Liebowitz, Scott Liebowitz, Mitchell Gifford and Bailey Gifford, and great- grandchildren Taylin Sorden and Brayson Sorden.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Sunday, December 8th, 2019 at Jackson Creek Senior Living located at 16601 Jackson Creek Parkway, Monument, CO 80132. A reception will be held following the Memorial Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cynthia’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.StJude.org.
