Daniel Lawrence Sanders who went by DL, age 78, passed away on August 15th. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO for over 20 years. He was a Retired Army Staff Sergeant.
DL was born on July 4, 1944 to Daniel Jefferson Sanders and Alma May Sanders, maiden name Grover, in Ashland, Kansas. On October 25, 1974 he married Myong Sun in Seoul, Korea.
He attended Arvada High School. He served in the Army for 22 years, 7 years in Vietnam, 1 year in Korea and 6 years on the border of Germany and France.
He is survived by his loving wife Myong Sun, his brother Stephen Sanders and sister Betty Baumann. Also survived by 2 nephews Jayson Thomas and Jefferson Sanders and 3 nieces Kendra Andrews, Rebecca Lester and Annette Glover. He was preceded in death by his mother Alma M. Sanders Bowyer, father Daniel J. Sanders, sister Virginia Sickler.
A funeral service will be held August 30th at 10:00am at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. The burial will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 12:00 noon, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925. A reception will be held after the burial at Myong’s house 1152 Whistler Hollow Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
