David Carl Chastain, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2003 and formerly of San Diego, California, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was a retired aircraft mechanic with the United States Navy and was very proud to have worked on F-14s. After retiring from his 21-year career in the Navy, he worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier.
David was born on February 14, 1957 in France to Carl and Rose (Sadler) Chastain. He married Betty Goddard on February 18, 1995 in San Diego, California.
He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed woodworking and fussing around with his computer.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Amy Phelps and husband Rick; two siblings: Rodolfo Chastain and Carla Wright; and 1 grandson, Jacob Phelps. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Celebration of Life North Chapel, 5440 North Union Boulevard. Inurnment will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
