David Charles Poorman, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away June 16th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family, at 70 years of age. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 45 years and formerly a resident of Austin, TX; Riverside, CA; and was raised in Limon, CO until 1966. He was a Service Representative for 37 years before retiring in 2015.
David was born on September 24th, 1951 to Melvin and Barbara (Akers) Poorman in Denver, CO. On June 26th, 1971 he married his high school sweetheart Donna (Smith) in Colorado Springs, CO.
David enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and sons. He also enjoyed camping, the mountains, doing woodwork, and was handy around the house. He graduated from William Mitchell High School, class of 1969.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna, his sons Dean (Beckie) of Brighton, CO and Doug (Tracy) of Colorado Springs, CO; his grandchildren Adian, Devin, Logan and Iyana; his brother Mark (Cathy) Poorman of Indian Hills, CO and sister Margo Wood of Colorado Springs, CO and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends around the world. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Barbara Poorman and his sister Carolyn Hoppe.
Cremation has occurred and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 8th at 11 A.M. at The Salvation Army, 908 Yuma St., 80909. A reception will be held following the service.
