David William Raque, age 50, passed away on July 12, 2017. He was a life-long resident of Colorado Springs. David just celebrated 30 years of service in custodial services for the Post Office.
David was born on March 18, 1967 to Herman E. and Mary Ann (Parkhill) Raque. He was a member of Circle Drive Baptist Church and attended the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind, and graduated in 1986. David was a lifelong ardent fan of the Denver Broncos and among his other involvements in his church, he was an active member of AWANA. David was named Sertoman of the Year 1999-2000 for the Colorado Springs Deaf Sertoma Club.
He is survived by his siblings: Linda (Woody) McClendon and James (Mary) Raque; niece, Jennifer (Brad) Carson; nephew, Gregory (Christine) McClendon, and five great nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Circle Drive Baptist Church, 801 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
Private entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in David’s name may be made to the Circle Drive Baptist Church’s new building fund.
