Deborah Louise Jones-Selk of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada, was born in Taft, California on January 9, 1952. She came to Las Vegas and attended Rancho High. After high school, she took an interest in healthcare. Working as a chiropractic assistant, a massage therapist and later attending UNLV and graduating at the top of her class as a physical therapy assistant. During her time as a massage therapist, she rose to even sit on the licensing board for Clark County, Nevada.
She met her husband, Larry, in 1988, marrying in 1989 and became stepmother to Larry’s daughters, Erika and Ingrid. Caring for them as her own. She was a volunteer for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Southern Nevada and volunteered for A Home for Spot animal rescue.
Upon retirement, she and Larry lived a dream of living in an RV and touring the country for several years, experiencing all this country has to offer. She and Larry ultimately settled in Colorado Springs in 2021.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Larry Selk; sister, Veronica Cortez (Tony); brothers: Rick Jones, David Jones (Delma), Eddie Tesko (Cynthia); sister, Tina Jones; her stepdaughters: Erika Knaub (Austin), Ingrid Ellis (Joshua); and grandchildren: Alex, Charlotte and Max Knaub.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jones; her mother, Patricia Tesko; brother, James Jones; and sister, Lisa Jones.
Deborah was adored by friends and relatives alike. She delighted in helping others, both in her professional life and her personal life.
